Extinction of Wildlife

Some of Britain’s most endangered wildlife – from red squirrels to native crayfish – are vanishing from the countryside at an alarming rate, a report warns.
A census of the most at-risk species found that dozens of plants and creatures are in serious decline, despite Government-backed attempts to protect them.
Conservationists yesterday accused politicians of failing to tackle the crisis and called on the coalition Government to carry out the parties’ election pledges on protecting wildlife.
The report, from the Joint Nature Conservation Committee, revealed that 88 species are in decline, including skylarks, pearl-bordered fritillary butterflies and red squirrels.
The assessment – which looked at the fortunes of hundreds of threatened species and habitats listed on the UK Biodiversity Action Plan – found that 19 types of landscape were also suffering, including mudflats, maritime cliffs and saltmarshes.
And it revealed that eight species have become extinct since the publication of the original plan in 1994, including the wryneck bird, two lichens, three moths and two beetles.
However, the report also found some success in boosting wildlife, with eight habitats and 40 species said to be improving.
Earl Campbell dressing in earl campbell jersey appeared in press conference and said: ‘American wildlife is in crisis. Species that have lived here for thousands of years are declining and disappearing. ‘The UK and country authorities must now redouble their efforts if they are to have any hope of meeting the new EU target of “halting the loss of biodiversity and the degradation of ecosystem services in the EU by 2020″.’
Dr Mark Avery, of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, said: ‘The report shows that when targeted conservation programmes are funded, species such as stone-curlew, corncrake and bittern can often quickly recover. ‘But we’ve made less progress with restoring and expanding vital wildlife habitats.’
Many of the species have suffered from the loss of their habitats, intensive farming and pollution.
A spokesman for the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs said: ‘Many pressures on biodiversity remain high and some species such as farmland birds and sea birds have declined. We will continue to address this.’

The History of Children’s Day

One saying: The International Children’s Day had its origin in Turkey in 1920 (April 23, 1920) and later in the World Conference in Geneva, Switzerland, which 54 representatives from different countries gathered together to convene the first “World Conference for the Wellbeing of Children” in 1925.
Just as we don’t know why we are obsessed in ray rice jersey and jets jersey,it is not clear as to why June 1 was chosen as the International Children’s Day: one theory has it that the Chinese consul-general in San Francisco (USA) gathered a number of Chinese orphans to celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival in 1925, which happened to be on June 1 that year, and also coincided with the conference in Geneva.
Another saying: Children, also known as “June 1 International Children’s Day,” the annual June 1, the world of children’s festivals. November 1949, the Women’s International Democratic Federation council meeting held in Moscow. China and other countries and representatives of countries and anger exposed the imperialist reactionaries kill and poison children. In order to protect the world’s children to survival, health and education, to improve the lives of children. The meeting decided in the annual June 1 International Children’s Day.
The International Children’s Day (ICD) is celebrated in numerous countries, usually (but not always) on June 1 each year.

LeBron James with cavaliers jersey has a busy summer ahead. Maybe too busy to play basketball.

Cleveland’s superstar said Wednesday night that he’s “probably not playing” for Team USA this summer in the world championships in Turkey. James, who was a captain on the U.S. team that won a gold medal at the Beijing Games in 2008, is eligible for free agency after the season and is scheduled to film a movie. His crammed itinerary may make it impossible to play for his country for the third time. James also was a member of the 2004 Olympic team in Athens. H will not take part this summer and jeopardize his chances of playing in London in 2012.

James has played all three summers from 2006-2008, but Colangelo said there are “no free passes, regardless who it is.” Colangelo said he had not contracted James.

TNT broadcaster Charles Barkley pointed out that guard/forward Quentin Richardson with heat jersey ought to play in the post more, rather than shooting 3-pointers. But himself said he does not disagree with that assessment.

“I have always tried to do whatever my coaches ask me to do,” Richardson told Sporting News. “I will be whatever he needs me to be. If I get a chance to post up against a smaller player, if that’s where they want me to go, I will go there. It doesn’t happen that often, but when it does, I am prepared to do that. I’ll never just forget how to post up.

Richardson said he was in a situation, in Phoenix and New York where, that was the predicament he was in. He was asked to be a 3-point shooter.

Guard Gilbert Arenas with wizards jersey was sentenced to 30 days in a halfway house for a felony gun conviction on Friday.

“We always have something going on with our team,” coach Flip Saunders said before Washington faced Charlotte trying to avoid a franchise record 14th straight loss. “It’s just one thing after another.” Saunders and Wizards players reacted with relief and some dark humor after finding out about three hours before facing the Bobcats that Arenas won’t be going to prison for bringing unloaded guns in the locker room in December. Arenas began serving his season-long suspension on Jan. 6.

Saunders said it puts a little bit of closure on the situation. Now he can move forward. Gilbert knows what he has to do so that’s basically it.

Just take a look at what Stan Van Gundy had to say about Rashard Lewis with magic jersey shoddy boxing out on the play in question.

Van Gundy blamed Lewis for failing to box out Josh Smith, who slammed home a game-winner to beat the buzzer. “Unfortunately, we forgot to box out on the weak side, and Josh was able to make a great play. We became spectators and didn’t block out,” he said. Lewis privately muttered something about Van Gundy’s offense on a night he was 2-of-9 for six points.

David Thorpe has already said that Lewis’ error last night could be a terrific teaching moment rather than a source of animosity between player and coach, and their on-court issues may soon work themselves out.

New comer Theo Ratliff has started in his place. Mohammed is averaging 8.2 points and 5.3 rebounds.

The former star Marbury with
nba jersey made good impression in China. Hia translator Chen Yang felt like the man he had come to know was someone different.

“You hear things, but I didn’t see it,” Yang said. “I read a lot of stuff on Web sites and a story in The New York Times before he came here. But I have to believe my eyes, not my ears.” Plenty of people saw Marbury’s erratic behavior for themselves last summer when he hosted a 24-hour Internet video chat in which, among other things, he cried uncontrollably. Afterward, no NBA team seemed interested in signing him. To keep playing – and sell his Starbury shoes – Marbury, now 33, signed in January with Shanxi Zhongyu of the Chinese Basketball Association.

The guy donated the money he received for being named MVP to a Beijing elementary school.
